These are the collective stories, pictures, and revelations from the Kings. If you don’t know who we are, we are a very young military family (my husband, Richard, being the military and I, Sydney, the dependent) whose first base is in England. We were forcibly picked up and moved across the great ocean separating two lands and cultures; now we are living apart from the family and friends that have surrounded us our entire lives, supporting us in times of trial and hardship. I know everyone thinks the Brits speak the same language as American’s, but surprisingly there is still a language barrier. Not to mention driving on the opposite side of the road coupled with incredibly too fast speed limits on back roads, an obnoxious currency exchange, and a complete 180 in culture. We are also both having to adjust to the strange life that is the military, along with adjusting to each other as newly-weds, all at the same crazy whirlwind time. Not only is this experience of being overseas very scary, its also incredibly exciting. We now get to explore the world where many cannot. We never could have imagined living in England and being able to just go wherever in Europe/the UK we wanted. Travel here is so cheap it is honestly a steal. So, these are stories of a young couple trying to make it in life while having adventures and falls, lack of family and new friends, seeing the world, owning a dog, and trying to succeed in this thing called marriage.
